Joy In The Tension

Okay, so I'm not "born to blog." Great blog thoughts cross my mind often, but getting them down is, well, next to impossible. We've had a few changes over the last few months. Here are just a few. . .
1. We put our house on the market and it sold in eight days! (Very cool, except we had no where to move.) So October 2ND we moved to a rent house--in the same neighborhood.
2. A few days later in October, I turned 30!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (I have the grey hair to prove it) My sweet husband threw me a rockin' birthday bash.
3. Mid October that same amazing husband took me to Cabo for my birthday. What a gre
at get-away; however, it was hard to leave our little 6 month old.

It is a neighborhood outreach event that we (the members of our church that live in our neighborhood) put on for our community. I could write a whole blog about this event, but I'll just say when God calls you to do something----look out. He
will do immeasurably more than we can ask or imagine. You can check out the website http://www.runtheranch.org/ we should have pictures soon.

6. Then December comes with all it's parties and gifts and travels and, deep breath, Brad's car was totaled so we have to find a new car in a matter of days, we're still looking for a place to call home, Brad changes jobs (he's still the best insurance agent in Texas but now he's with a new company. Great group of people at MHBT, most of whom love Jesus!) This is a great praise, but highly stressful. We also traveled to New Mexico for Christmas, once again, great idea, but highly stressful with a pre-schooler and a baby.
7. So here we are in January and none of the above issues are settled, plus I just got a call from Brad who is in Dallas and said that his car was broken into at Dell Frisco's Steakhouse tonight--that would be the rent car because his previous car was totaled.
HOWEVER, God has graciously given me a theme verse for the year again and a goal. The verse is Philippians 4:11-13 and the goal is to find JOY IN THE TENSION of life. So not only has he given me the verse, but a venue to practice as well.
8. For anyone who is still reading, maybe this is why I don't blog, let me shout---I LOVE JESUS, because he is teaching me the "secret of being content." I usually think, "If only I can settle XY and Z, then everything will be okay," but Jesus said I'm going to have trouble and stress in this world, but he's overcome the world. So I'm learning to rest in God no matter the circumstances, because the truth is, XY and Z will never be settled.
God only knows what 2007 holds. . . maybe I'll be a better blogger. (probably not) One thing I know for sure, God holds 2007!
Happy New Year
